Meet Kim!

Attorney. Mother. Coach. Leader.

Kim Przekota was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon.  She has three brothers and is the second youngest of four children.  Kim earned a full academic scholarship to attend Iona College (now Iona University) in New Rochelle, New York. At Iona, she was a student in the Honors College. Kim was one of two Iona students selected to spend her entire junior year studying abroad at Oxford University.  At Oxford, Kim earned a 4.0 (equivalent) studying medieval history, religion and philosophy. In addition to excelling academically, Kim was also a two-sport Division I athlete.  As a member of both the women’s swimming and water polo teams she earned All-Conference and All-American Academic honors. In her senior year, Kim was a starter on the Iona women’s water polo team when it won its first ever conference championship.  That same season she earned defensive player of the tournament and defensive player of the year awards. Kim graduated magna cum laude in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.

She then attended graduate school at Iona College where she graduated summa cum laude in 2005 with a Master of Arts degree in history.

Kim moved to Illinois to attend law school at DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, she was on the Dean’s List and earned awards for prosecution, trial advocacy and public service Kim graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2008. 

After graduating law school, Kim married her college sweet-heart Chris Przekota in 2009.  Chris, a Chicago-land native, graduated from Fenwick High School in Oak Park before attending Iona College.  As a student at Iona, Chris was also a two-sport Division I athlete. Chris earned All American honors twice as a collegiate water polo player.  He majored in finance and graduated from Iona with his Bachelors of Business Administration in 2004 and Masters of Business Administration in 2005.

Kim and Chris Przekota now live with their three school-aged children in Park Ridge, Illinois where they both work in public service and are active in the local water polo community.  Kim is currently the head girls water polo coach at Loyola Academy.  Kim has been coaching at Loyola for the past 13 years. Prior to that, Kim coached age-group and high school water polo at the Latin School of Chicago and age group water polo at Tokeneke in Connecticut. Chris Przekota has been a coach and referee, and is currently an active masters level player.
